Free Tibet Campaign stands for the Tibetans' right to determine their own future. It campaigns for an end to China's occupation of Tibet and for the Tibetans' fundamental human rights to be respected.

This group is not about attacking the Chinese but more about making them regain their own humanity. Many people think that this story has run its course, that it's too late and that there will never be a time again when the Tibetans have a right to their culture and traditions. This is, of course, the easy option... However, the wealth of the Tibetan culture, religion and language cannot b allowed to be extinguished. Why? Because since the 1950 invasion by the Chinese, approximately 1.2 million Tibetans have been killed; because Tibetans are still being emprisoned and tortured without a right to a fair trial; because the natural resources of this beautiful country on the "roof of the world" are being overexploited in the name of economic development and this is paving the way to natural disasters; because there are currently 111,170 Tibetans living in exile with their government led by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in North India; because people from all over the world still care and so can you!

So if you are in Edinburgh or in the area, please contribute and bring your ideas. I will try and keep this space updated with local events and information.
